Preparing for Velden vist

Today was a very busy day for Polish students :) We had to prepare some gifts for our Erasmus friends, but the process went quite smoothly. It was a lot of fun as we could also see some organisational differences between them and notice that everyone has our own way of putting the stickers onto the eco- notepad. How do you find our gifts? Boys vs girls

Austria- Erasmus: Connected to the Environment Reflection

Reflection For my Action as Service Group I chose to join the Erasmus: Connected to the Environment Group. In this group we work with 4 other schools from: Croatia, Slovenia, Poland and Greece. We work with these schools to analyze our Communities and connected with each others. During my Year and Half of Working with this School I have seen my Strengths in creating Surveys. In all of 4 parts of the Programm I have dedicated my time to creating, distributing and Analyzing Surveys. These Surveys have been used to analyze the: Technology, Environmental Impact and Relationships with Teachers within our Community. I learnt that my weaknesses are in the Distribution of the Surveys. I sometimes have problems to finding the time to actually ask people. Now I try to fix this by thinking ahead and prioritizing distribution over everything else. I hope to continue to help this Program and analyze more aspects of our Community.

Austria - Action as Service Reflection May 2019

As the title represents, my name is Paul Bulfon and I am part of the ERASMUS+ connected with the environment group. In this reflection I am going to discuss point two on the third page of the “Service as Action MYP.pdf”, undertake challenges that develop new skills. Since I am in the ERASMUS+ group I have undertaken a few challenges which developed new skills. In total there were two main activities which prove this point perfectly. The first one was the trip to Poland (Lublin) two years ago. It was my first trip which I attended alone (without my family) and I stayed in a host family, which means that I did not know them beforehand. This experience was a little bit fighting at first, but I was very lucky with my host family and was able to live relatively normal compared to the lifestyle I live at home. This trip for sure helped me with a few new skills. The main one is being a risk taker. I feel like I was already a risk taker before, but this experience improved my skill of being

Action and Service Reflection May 2019- Austria

Undertake challenges that develop new skills The Erasmus+ Connected with the Environment Group basically focuses on collaborating and interacting with 4 other schools around Europe. It is a way to bring students together (with different cultural backgrounds and traditions) and challenge them in grouping with the other members, working effectively with one another and learning from each other through different ways. This is done through the different meetings which are organized for each of the four modules which every group from each school has to accomplish different objectives which might include: raising awareness, taking action, gathering data, researching, investigating and many more depending on the module itself and the specific objective that the student has decided to work on. As a member of this group, I think that the most important (if not one of the most frequent learning experiences used) which students have to face with is to undertake challenges and developing new

Unplugged in Ljubljana

On 26th of April we had a day without electronic devices. Our students created posters of different kinds. They were about nature and about protecting it. Each student also created a hand made out of paper. On the hand students wrote about how they are helping Earth and about things everyone should do. We joined all hands into a beautiful exhibition showing Earth and our hands supporting it. Students seemed to have a lot of fun on Unplugged day. The theme was Earth day which was a few days earlier. We didn't celebrate Earth day on 22th of April because we will celebrate Earth day on the last day before holidays. Earth day was about protecting Earth and taking care of it's environment. Because of humans, species of animals and plants are disappearing and that effects on biodiversity, climate changes and our natural sources. Humans destroy habitats and a lot of animals lose their home which has bigger effect on a global scale.

How much is our city eco-friendly?

On Monday, 29th April 2019 the CRO eco team did the A25 task in the City Hall. In conversation with the local authorities, we should investigate how much is our city eco-friendly.  Six members of the project team (Ivona Suhić, Tina MilijaÅ¡, Luka Hacek, Tonka Igrec, Mirjam Bezak and Dina Bekić), project coordinator Draženka Kolonić and principal Karmen Hans JalÅ¡ovec attended the meeting with Sandra Malenica, deputy mayor and Draženka Dević, leader of an office for education. We have presented our project and the activities we are doing. We have asked questions about waste at the eastern entrance to the city as well as about the possibility of setting up the city bicycles for rent. We talked about an initiative for the city to ban the use of single-use plastic before the year 2021 when it should become prohibited by law. Most of our questions are already being considered and resolved. About banning the use of single-use plastics at events in the city, such as the Å panci
